This is a general idea of what I do in my free time. I work with barstock 1084 steel or 1095. All heat treatment is done in Selective Hardening or Differential Heat Treatment. I make knives and swords. Japanese style only

Blade in the photo is a simple Hira Zukuri Tanto at I BELIEVE to be 7 3/8 inch in length. Original plan was to have it done in suguha hamon for heat treatment. But it ended up being Hitatsura. Which really is fine since. Most first blades for any maker usually goes *pting* aka it snaps during heat treat. Haven't even done the finish work on it yet. We are already working on the next piece which will be a Hira Sangaku Ken.
