nice stuff....if you do photoshop check out Blender3D
free and stuff...itll let you make 3D things that you can render into 2D, or keep them in 3D and STILL post them, with or without animation. if you need help with it, let me know. i can whip up something similiar to that almost automatically in about an hour or so though im out of practice. in fact you could make it so the clouds move, and make storms and flashes, maybe comets/meteors....just google it

Yeah, I've tried it before, usually one can achieve slightly greater detail in static pictures through photoshop though.
At the moment I'm slowly mastering a program called Vue 6 Infinite which is also a 3D program, however, it specializes nature scenes rather than modelling things like 3ds max or maya. I have most my main pictures done in Vue at my website.

ah, ok. just didnt know if you tried animation or not. you can actually sell models and stuff at link and make some money, but i think they only support 3dsMax and Gmax. havent been there in a while, but if youre into this stuff, you might want to check it out.

Actually, most of the tutorials I learnt from, were made in PS7.

100% myself. I learned from tutorials and just messing around in photoshop.

I also learn from tut's, and later on use it while messing around. Haven't found any good site yet though.
The things I find are kinda basic, which gets boring after five minutes ._.

Actually, its fun to do. It takes time though, but the outcome is worth it.

Just search for planet tutorials on deviantart in the photoshop tutorial section. I have gained most my skills from them over the last 6 months. (There are like 20 or so) as well as a lot from google. link.com has one of the best tutorials though.
