EDIT: This blog is quite old, I'm playing MS again.

Well, as many who know me in game would notice, I have been playing maple less and less.

Since almost four months ago, or whenever it was that korean folk town arrived, I had been having really bad lag, I cannot say that is too much of an excuse anymore as I often don't lag now, however I am confronted with one problem: Funding...

I use like 15million mesos per level just on potions for training, I'll guess that I hopefully get at least quarter of that back through drops. Well, now I'm down to 6mill left, barely enough to level if I train at squid or something which are substantially slower than grims. I don't really want to spend the last of what I have on pots though as I need to figure out a way to actually earn mesos and hopefully build from what I have.

I've tried selling dimension pieces, but that no longer works since it would now appear that all my buyers must have been hackers as they no longer barely sell at all. As for merchanting, well... I never really could get that right and actually earn much for it, maybe I'm just not like all the other jerks who scam people to half of what is a reasonable bargain, plus now with the deflation of scrolls, I doubt it's the greatest thing to really try in any case. What else is there? I could sell dead mine scrolls I suppose, but I don't really have a group of people who are able to do it repeatedly and in such good time.

What should I do? I really do not want to quit until at least 120 and I never originally intended even quitting then either.

I really don't know what to do any more in order to get anywhere and be able to train. That's why I'm posting this I guess, suggestions welcome.

Don't force yourself in to training. =/
You missed the point of the game.
If the game i making you unhappy/you aren't enjoying it anymore, then there is no point in playing.
I'm not saying you should quit, but just consider that fact. I usually take a break and see how I feel.

It's not that I have missed the point in the game, it's that I don't mind training, but cant afford to. I wouldn't play if I didn't enjoy it.

Come leach with me on Henesys hunting grounds.

kill easy monsters like yetis and see if you get drops or ...you could go uhhmm... gacha =O gacha pwn scrols = $_$
so yur....like that.

Hm, Gacha isn't really an option as NX is quite expensive as it is. $1=7 of my currency. However, I suppose I could find a monster that hopefully drops something valuable eventually.

Well in that case, train elsewhere. grupins are good. You could try squids actually, they use literally no pots at all (imo anyway).

Well, I find it really hard to get a party there usually, but it is cheaper, a little more than half, but at the cost of up to 50% slower than grims as well.

If you want to use the money people donate you to get married you can make a lot off of APQ.
I know it might seem really expensive (it is) but the ring never expires.

I made 50 mil in 1 week of APQing! ^o^

Another thing, try training with a Pizard/DK?

That way they die as soon as the DK hits or you heal. (I don't know much about Grims but w/e.)

Two problems... firstly, I'd have to find someone to marry, and who I'd actually get along with. =/
Aaand secondly, what are these donations you speak of? lol.

Any other ideas? =]

In my experience, there are only 2 ways of making a reasonable amount of money in this game. One is the gacha >< which requires real money and a lot of luck and the other one is to FM/merchant. Both of which I have never really liked. In the past, GPQing brought in a sizable amount of income but as you said, deflation cut into a lot of the profits. APQing is okay if you are married but probably not worth the effort/money to get married since you can only do it once every couple of hours and you need to trek back to Vic everytime which is just as annoying as time-consuming.

Selling cracks and ZPQing is only a temporary solution as neither brings in a lot of money. We don't ZPQ very frequently but if you pop the question in chat, once in a while a couple of us will do it for a couple hours (a couple million mesos per member).

If I were in your position, I would stay at squids (sqpt) for the remainder of your level (a lot of AoWians train there now so finding a party shouldn't be that bad), misting up the map shouldn't be that pot consuming unless you bump a lot of squids. After leveling, I would go to sharks and perfect training there without MG (seal and mist). I hear EXP isn't so bad and drops are okay. In the meantime, I would try making connections with any hosts for zakum and see if there is any slim chance you can join zakum runs (where a lot of the higher levels make their money at). I don't think any of this will be much of a problem since you don't lag as much now. Anyways, that's just some ideas from a poor hermit . I'll see you in game sometime.

Thanks for the suggestions. I probably should master sharks sometime, only problem is that my seal is at level 1, kinda hard for sharks but I suppose with a little practice I may not even need seal. As for Zakum, I'm in Euro and Outsiders atm, but Euro at least seems to be having a break for the holidays. Anyway, I'll be back on maple in a couple of days, then I'll probably be on every day, lately I've just been catching up on a bit of school among other things.

Yeah, they are 75% hp/mp pots, training now costs me less than half.
I might actually break even at squid.

Ask for meso donations on ur thread
I would actually donate to you if I was in bera...and from your other blog, if you keep that up, you'll probably make tons everyday off a few who donate to you.
Bands: idk :(

My advice: Try playing a new game a for a little while.

Either two things will happen. 1) You feel refreshed and ready to start maple again or 2) You are now addicted to your new game so you quit Maple
Bands: A rubber band. Lol witty

play a different game. But then again, you could just go try your luck at a gachapon.
