Nothing special, just testing out how well my laptop renders at the best quality and a bigger resolution. This was inspired by a lake I often camp at. Oh, and again please ignore the stupid freeware watermark.

Crysis!?
Oh.. Vue!

Day could be sunnier, but I guess that would kill the render time somewhat.

If you've ever been to east coast Canada you'd notice that the weather is almost always hazy except in midday, I used a mild fog on purpose. And surprisingly the render time was less then 90 minutes for a broadcast quality at 1024x768 resolution.

And I'm REALLY looking forward to go back to school because I'll get a 40% discount on any graphics software, and this will definitely be one of my purchases, as well as Bryce and/or Maya.

Bryce is good for learning super-basics. But it's not a powerful program at all. Actually, it's one of the crappiest programs out.
I used it to learn off of. They also release every "previous" version to their latest one for free. So I think 6.0 is out now, which means the full version of 5.5 should be available free. Maya also has a learning edition if you want to try it out I think. There are some other fairly good programs out there that are also free or have free editions.
