i was looking today at the squadshere
And i was just rating the squads and found Spain and Holland squads i think the most promising squad in term of defense and attacks.
Portugal i dunno we are not in the 80's where one player can get u the competition anymore.
Italy squad wont match the pace 
France will play nicely and henry will misses tons of chances, only if Benzema started regularly.
So here is my rating
1-Spain
2-Holland
3-France

Wow. To me Holland is like 8th or so
my top 5:
1. Spain
2. Germany
3. France
4. Portugal
5. Greece
and these aren't the teams that I LIKE (yuck, germans!) but the teams I think are the best.

So... I still can perceive a lot of hate for Italy around here... I mean, placing Greece above Italy?
To me, France won't make it through the groups stage, Raymond Domenech is not a very good coach IMO (I mean, he left David Trezeguet! Runner-up scorer in Italian Serie A, and Philippe Mexes too, Roma's defender, he's very good) and now, Zidane won't be around to take them to the final.
Spain has sucked on the last 2 friendly matches they played (against Peru and EEUU). Besides, Spain is a squad which enters every big tournament as one of the most "promising" ones, and always end up being one of the disappointments (even though I have to admit they were heavily robbed by Korea on 2002 World Cup, same as Italy). For me, they won't make it to Semi-Finals (specially seeing as their quarter-finals rival will be one between Italy, Holland, France or even Romania).
Holland is a different story; they have a pretty scary squad and a LOT of offensive potential, but most of their players are pretty young, and the lack of experience may be a problem. Regardless, I think they will win Group C. Group D squads are not much of a threat, so I think they'll reach Semi Finals.

Germany had luck, and got placed on the easiest group. They're a strong team, all of their players seem to be in good shape, specially Ballack, who recovered his best level in Chelsea after 2 bad years. I think they are big candidates for reaching the finals, but even though they group is piece of cake, they probably won't have an easy road on Quarters and Semifinals.
Portugal... one of the big mysteries, they could fall on the First round, as they could reach the final, they have a good team, but they depend on Cristiano R. a lot, and tends to disappear on big matches, he's kinda immature, a crybaby, and can't handle pressure. Don't get me wrong, I recognize him as one of the world's current best players.
Greece were the big surprise on the past Euro, and I can hardly even think they'll repeat on this Euro, even though they did a good Qualifier. Most squads already know how they play and how to counter it (except Portugal, they were beaten by Greece on their last friendly match like 2 months ago or something, and haven't been able to defeat them in a single match). My prediction is, they won't pass the first round.

Holland is my favourite team, however I must admit their defence isn't quite as promising. RVN, Huntlear, Van der Vaart are excellent strikers/CAM but the defence is really the big trouble, Especially the 2 centre backs .

This is the way i think EURO08 gonna end
Champions- Holland (If they make through group C)/Spain
Runners up- Spain/ Holland (if they make through group C)
3rd place- Germany/Italy/France
4th place- Portugal/France (If CR7 is on fire then hell yes maybe even champions)

Italy has suffered some changes from the team that won the World Cup, with the change of coach being the most important one. Players like Totti and Nesta stepped aside, and others didn't make it due to the team's renovation, which still keeps the same base from the World Cup, with Buffon, Toni, Pirlo, among others. But recently, Italy lost their captain and best defender, Fabio Cannavaro (injured), which is a BIG loss. Anyway, it's well known that Italy works best against adversity (world cup after Serie A scandal) so it may even be a plus. Buffon will be the captain. Like Portugal, I think they can either win the cup or be gone on the first stage. To me they'll be group C runners-up, behind Holland, and (hopefully, for me  ) reach the finale if they concentrate.

Even though no country has won this prestigious honor twice, I go for Greece and I am kind of in shock that Portugal defeat Turkey 2-0.
I dont think turkeys going anywhere and if they do, I hope to see the final as Greece VS Turkey 2-1

well first goal was clearly an offside too bad i couldn't watch the second half too am having final exams these dam days :S

wow my ratings were quite right till now, Holland is doing amazingly great and am waiting to see how Spain will do today against swede

This might seem strange to you, but I think that Holland's first goal against Italy was absolutely legal, no complains about that.
But we were robbed against Romania! Damn... Pretty complicated situation, Italy HAS to beat France (not big deal, IMO) and pray for Holland to keep it up and beat Romania (or a draw, at least), but since they're qualified AND they assured the first place in the group, they may play with all substitutes, MAYBE EVEN GIVE the match to Romania to get rid of Italy and France (highly unlikely for me that a man like Van Vasten would do such a thing). Anyway, Romania already bet Holland in the Euro2008 qualifiers, and they also tied. Either way, Holland could not beat them.
