They claim to have been around before us. If they're talking about maplestory, LIES. According to claud, one of them told him that they've been around for 5 years.

Even if he hadn't said that 5 years ago thing, his claim to have been first would have been fishy enough.
The guild FFVII was created in my heart a while ago, back when the guild system first came out. Mapleglobal didn't have a guild system for like an year or so, and back then, WOW 5 mil for a teeny square picture was just insanity.
I wasn't able to scrounge up mesos, but bestmage was able to. He created a guild called DotHack (after my favorite anime and this game we liked to play), which i gladly joined, but it wasn't a fulfilling moment. I still wanted to create an FF7 guild named PromisedLand haha.
Then I had this crazy idea... The DotHack guild wasn't great, I had a feeling it was draining cloud, me, and james of the little life we had in maple. Why Nanaki played 10 times more maple than Tifa did, and we know how inactive HE is. (jk)
When the next new world came out, I wanted to move our entire guild over to whichever new world is was, and create our NEW GUILD! (my PromisedLand seriously) Everyone except Bestmage were semi-enthusiastic about the idea. We decided to all name our characters after our favorite FFVII characters. We denied ourselves the classes we had always stuck with, Cloud couldn't find the name he wanted, I couldn't, Tifa couldn't. buuut... we stuck with it. Through hard times leveling, it was amazing how this idea didn't seem so far fetched. Gawd we worked really hard to get those mesos, and in a few months with the help of StevenSigal, we had enough mesos for our guild. I feel cocky whenever I read smegaphones of people searching for members to start random guilds because we had 13 members all at the guild hall to start with, and each member except Ki0hto (my random friend) was there with a purpose.
haha.. i remember people were fighting over who got to be in the starting party..
We named our shiny guild... FFVII. not FFVLL as it is right now, but FFVii. It was sort of Cloud's idea to put in a neutral name, but it was good. Now that I think about it, the name PromisedLand is a bit religous towards Aeris. It was really cool to see it, but we never ever eeevvverr expected the guild to be more than just us. More people joined, we expanded, then more joined, til we expanded to the max. Only 30 people could fit in a guild before they patched in the 100 member limit, so we were really stressed. After a lot of thinking, i mean a LOT of thinking (i wrote cloud a 2 page letter explaining by idea) we seperated the guild into 2 branches. One was the original FFVII known as the welcoming branch. The other one was created by T1F4xLH called the permanent branch. The idea was that members would first be invited into the welcoming branch. Once we believed they would stay, we would transfer them to the perma branch. holy cow this started a lot of dung that really made me regret so much. So far, it was probably one of the worst times FFVII went through.
The welcoming branch was deleted, and extremely long story cut very short, here we are now all in the permanent branch spelled FFVLL and led by Tifa.
oh yeah i forgot to say, Cloud was the actual leader of the guild. yeah this guild was my idea and everything, but i convinced Cloud to be the leader because i believed he would have been a much better leader than i could be, and this was the truth. so when we (cloud and i) say that we are the co-leaders, we are not exaggerating at all.
and THEN we NEVER would have guessed our guild would get this much bigger AGAIN! Tifa was put under so much stress guys at some points, so please, let me and cloud know the troubling stuff. she never asked to be leader of the guild. We (cloud and i) kindaaaa FORCED her to create the permanent branch. That responsibilty put her in hard times often, so please pretty please let us take guild responsibilty. wait what am i saying, we DO take it.
just don't complain to her, because it's annoying.
