About Us:
Art of War is the title of an Ancient Chinese war treatise written by Sun Tzu.
Our guild was formed on September 10, 2006.
Most of our members are over 20 years old with a handful from 15-18.
The average level for the guild is 90-100. Levels range from 70 to 135.
Most members are in EST and PST. We are most active in afternoons and evenings.
We often party for training, quests, bosses, and guild PQ. We have a zakum time slot.
Operations and Philosophy:
All new members are given the rank “Trial” for 1 to 4 weeks. During the Trial period, the guild will have an opportunity to get to know you better, and it gives you a chance to consider your potential fit in Art of War. At the end of the period, you may be asked to stay or leave. You may choose to leave the guild at any time during the Trial period.
Trials are not allowed to invite friends to join Art of War. Trials are not allowed to add a secondary character. Trials are not allowed to Guild PQ, but they are encouraged to party and train with other guild members.
If you are accepted, you will be promoted to Soldier rank. The next rank is Counsel, which is determined by voting. Junior Masters are selected from the Counsel rank.
Ranking is not a major issue in the guild. Everyone is treated with respect. We have high leveled as well as lower leveled members as Counsels and Juniors. We are interested in quality people, which levels cannot measure.
Art of War tries to maintain a fun and mature guild atmosphere. When people log on, be courteous and say hi or hello. If given the choice, we prefer talkative lower-leveled members to silent high-leveled grinders. We encourage conversation. We dislike spam.
We are not micromanagers of your time. For example, if you have final exams in two weeks and cannot be online, you will still have a guild when you return. Life is busy and Maple is a way to relax. We encourage our members to tell us about longer absences so we do not worry about them. Trials, however, should be observant of when they sign on. The guild cannot learn more about you if you are not online.
Requirements:
Maturity 18+
The majority of our members are over 18 years old. We only place the age requirement because it is a good indicator of maturity. From our experience, the individuals that interact best with the guild are generally older. However, young but mature Maplers should not be discouraged by this requirement.
Level 80+
More than 3/4 of our members are 80-100. New members that are not over level 80 may find training to be lonely. We do not want guild members to feel left out of activities.
*CBs, DKs, Priests*
Art of War has grown tremendously since it was first established. As our members have become higher leveled, we find ourselves partying together more often for training and boss runs, especially with Zakum. More CBs, DKs, and Priests in Art of War would greatly enhance how well we work together as a team.

We do not accept or condone hacking, scamming, cheating, or in-game abuse of other players etc. Guild members will check up on you. If any of the above is discovered, you will be expelled and reported.
