Thread starter Is the PSP really worth buying? If I do buy a PSP, I plan on getting 2GB Memory card, and what not. I just really want to know if I get my money's worth.

If you don't have an Ipod and are planning on getting the 2 GB memory then its worth it. The games up to right now aren't all that good but this year's upcoming games look really promicing.

Guilds: AnimalFarm Groups: Anti-Begging/Rude Begging, Anti-Hackers United, Bleach Fan I like psps. i downgrade them and then download my games from there. ever since i got a psp, i never bought a single game. only thing i've spent money on was a fancy case, and the 4gb mem stick. then again, it evens up because you save so much from downloading games.

my opinion yes i have one with a 2gb also i have music videos and games on here its pretty cool if you like playing games too...you can do quiet few things on here too not that bad if you think about it like upload camera picture off ppl right then and there with a usb cord or game share with your friends so yea think about it i have one you should too =D plus if a girl like me like it your should too

I downloaded a few games, but do you have a link of your source maybe? it goes pretty slow with the torrents I must say >.< you do risk to brick your psp when downgrading..but if you just read the guides carefully everything should be fine.. it's really worth it.

Buy a psp and downgrade it so u can install game emulators on it. But den again u can brick ur psp and just waste $$$

I use my PSP all the time. I wish I could down grade mine, but meh. I would say if you are a gamer who loves the classics, then you will love the PSP as far as gaming goes.
If you like to watch movies on the go, you win with a PSP. If you don't have any other sourse of MP3 music player, you win with the PSP. If you like new, very original and inovative games, try the DS. If you want a well rounded system that can multi-task your life with music, pics, vids, games, and the internet. You have it made with the PSP. It makes the price worth it. On the otherside you have the DS a very capable system. It's less money with great inovative games and software. though it doesn't have the same features as the PSP it makes up for it with it's price, popularity, and just down right fun games. (well not all of them). Both systems have fun games and different features. But with the new line up of games for the PSP like God Of War and FF Tactics on their way, I think I'll be busy with my PSP for just a little while longer, before I get a DS. If I do downgrade my PSP, you guys say there is a risk of "bricking" it. What does that mean?

I do have a custom firmware PSP at 3.02 OE-C, but I am so bored of my homebrew, and I finished all my favorite games like GTA Vice City Stories, and Metal Gear Solid Portable ops.

bricking it simply means "kaboom" haha yur psp will be... well if downgrading yur psp waas a video game? lol bricking it would = game over lol... well i have a psp and i love it~ its so useful~ the sound quality is top ntoch since its sony, BUT the volume is a little low~ i like the old psp better becaues it has the heavy feeling like its actually technological, not the new slims which feel like im holding a brick of plastic... but yea~ totally recommend it~ and if yur a final fantasy fan? oh boy its a must because crisis core is.... insanely awesome... =)
