Sorry if my blog depressed you. I miss my grandfather a lot, but I'm not spending much time mourning his death. I for example didn't make a weblog just after he'd died.
Meh... grieving is a waste of energy (to me, that is), but thnking of my granddad generally makes me happy.

Wow, comparing Quaxo to Diavolo I think I seriously prefer Quaxo over Diavolo what it comes to looks.

The thing about RENT is that it is more realistic than any of the other musicals I have seen. Cats for example is about singing and talking cats that sing odes to the moon and absorb the power of the moon into their bodies and one of the cats, who's known as Quaxo or Magical Mister Mistoffelees in the English version (the pictures of him here are the ones I like most, cause every actor playing him has different make-up) and Doctor Diavolo in the Dutch version, has magical powers. He's my favorite cat.
The musical Elisabeth, which is based on the life of the Austrian and later Hungarian empress Elisabeth (aka Sissi) is based on a true story, but throughout the story she meets Death (called Tod in German, Dood in Dutch and Toto-kaka in Japanese) who's a feminine looking man and she dances with him throughout the story until she dies and finally becomes his.
Or hers. In Japan they have all-women casts called Takarazukas.
Jesus Christ Superstar... ah well. Good musical, amazing music, but yeah. XD
RENT is more realistic and deals with things that can happen to everybody and that do happed in real life. That's why I like it.
Dyin/living in America is indeed one of the best songs. I forgot about it because I can't remember the lyrics, I think. Yesterda I found myself singing it on the bicycle.

*looks at September 11 snippet* NO WAY! You love RENT? It's the best, most striking musical ever! Perfectly shows the life of a group of young people dealing with homosexuality, AIDS and more... Usually I don't get emotional when watching movies or musicals, but when Angel died...
I don't know which song is my favorite. I like La Vie Boheme, One song, Glory and Rent best, I think. My favorite characters are Angel and Maureen.
Unfortunately I don't have a DvD.... I rely entirely on YouTube.
