(1) Jang Geum's Dream (26 episodes)
Genres: Drama, Historical
Plot Summary: (Courtesy of Wiki)
The story is spun off of the Korean historical drama Dae Jang Geum, though it is aimed for a younger audience. The plot is basically the same: a girl named Jang Geum with a dream of becoming a palace nurse. However, the complex line of corruption and sometimes even murder present in Dae Jang Geum does not appear in Jang Geum's Dream. The fate of Jang Geum's parents is never revealed and no one in the story dies. The plot is kept light throughout with quite a bit of comedy. Through the story, Jang Geum enters the palace and amazes people with her skills and willingness to learn.
A little history, courtesy of Wiki:
Jang Geum (fl. early 16th century) is the reputed only female Royal Physician in Korean history. She was mentioned about seven times in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, albeit with very vague and sketchy details. It is known, however, that King Jungjong was pleased with Jang Geum's medical knowledge and trusted her with taking care of royal family members. Henceforth, Jang Geum was made a third-ranked officer in the Court, and was granted the use of Dae (which means "great" in Korean) before her first names.
Scholars still argue to this day whether Jang Geum is a real person or just a generic name for certain people, whose origins are lost in history. If Jang Geum is a real person, it is worth noting that ever since her tenure ended, no Korean leaders has ever had a personal female physician, even to this day.
Thoughts
Since it is already so long, I will try to be short. This is more of a cooking anime with lots of comedy, drama, historical stuff and some romance thrown in. For those who don't like cooking animes, don't be daunted because this actually has more stuff in it. BTW, this is a Japanese DUB of a Korean-made anime. Much better done than the English dubs we get, I think.
(2) Saiunkoku Monogatari (39 episodes)
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo
Plot Summary:
Saiunkoku is a world of eight provinces or houses, each named after a different colour. The new Emperor, Shi Ryuuki, has gained for a reputation for being uninterested in courtly matters and for flaunting his love for men. Shuurei, although born of the important Kou family, has difficulty making ends meet. She easily accepts an invitation to be the Emperor's concubine in order to turn him into a good ruler. The mysterious Seiran, a young man who was adopted by her father, goes with her as Ryuuki's bodyguard. Entering the imperial palace revives Shuurei's dream of being a court official, and, together with the many companions she meets along the way, continues moving bravely forward while trying to fend off the Emperor's advances.
Thoughts
Not a bad anime. The story is about a young girl trying to assert herself in a man's world and how she overcame the many obstacles that come with such a path. The description is a little misleading but not so far from what the anime is about. Worth a watch and look out for Season 2. Its out!
(3) Saiunkoku Monogatari II (21 episodes so far?)
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Historical, Romance, Shoujo
Plot Summary: (Unavailable)
Thoughts
This is more of a continuation of the struggles as she tries to establish herself. No description and only a few episodes are out at the moment so I don't have much for you. If you liked the first season though, you should watch the second. Pretty good so far.
(4) Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (movie)

When 17-year-old Makoto Konno gains the ability to, quite literally, "leap" backwards through time, she immediately sets about improving her grades and preventing personal mishaps. However, she soon realises that changing the past isn't as simple as it seems, and eventually, will have to rely on her new powers to shape the future of her and her friends.
Thoughts
This is so great! Reminiscent of Studio Ghibli's with its clean, bright style of anime. Wished the ending was happier, grr, and I absolutely loved Chiaki! Wonderful!! PLEASE WATCH IT!!
(5) Anime Sanjushi (52 episodes)
Genres: Adventure, Historical, Romance
Plot Summary: (Unavailable)

'D'artagnan leaves his hometown of Gascogne for Paris in order to join the King's Musketeers or the Guards of the Cardinal. At his arrival, he went into an argument with Athos, Porthos and Aramis and provokes them into a duel. At the time of the duel, they were interrupted by the Guards of the Cardinal who are enforcing the King's decree banning duels. Afterwards, d'Artagnan and company became friends and adopted the motto, "all for one, and one for all".'
This was done in 1987, so the style is older. It is more suitable for younger kids, story-wise, light, funny, not a bad watch.
(Special KAWAII mention)
