Afternoon, gents~ -

Hey guys, Shroomsly here.

I suppose I have some explaining to do, don't I? :X Well, let's get on with the official statement, eh? Just enjoy the ride, it'll be over before you know it.

I'm not quitting. o_o;

I'm simply leaving the moderator team because of some long-standing differences that didn't manage to work themselves out. It's a thankless job, but it's not for the reasons you may think. Being a basilmarket moderator means you don't have time to thank others, you have to be as unbiased as possible to your team and the other users. With that in mind, I realized that making a huge dramatic thread/blog to call out a bunch of users will (and never has,) solved anything; however, making a blog showing my gratitude seemed fair enough, and that stuff's just not my style, anyways.

Thanks to those who supported me and believed in me when others wouldn't, and a special thanks to the other moderators (past and present,) who gave me advice and treated me like equals. You guys were all welcoming and understanding of my flaws and you helped me to work around them to become a competent moderator, albeit a humbled one.

Special thanks go to two moderators and two regular users of my choosing:

-Abtin, for being so impassioned, understanding, and persistent in your help throughout the short time I've been here as a mod and for that short time we were still regular users trying to find our places.

Your advice and humor got me through a lot of troubling times, and though you may think the same of me, it's important for you to realize that your outlook is how you're going to determine your future. Life may seem grim at times, but your persistence and patience are unequaled by any that I have seen, and they'll take you places. I am glad to think of you as more than another mod, but as a friend.

-Danny, for continuing to smile and carry on the tradition of being one of the few kind, compassionate, and understanding basilers left. Your basilID proceeds you, but it's still true; you smile, make others smile, and do it with precision. You may think that you've learned some things from me, but don't believe for a second that I didn't learn anything from you. When I stopped posting, it was because I knew that people like you were here to hold an open slate for everyone, free of their past transgressions and mistakes.

-Emily, you're another one of those unique people that are seldom found. Your mix of sarcasm and compassion are unparalleled. What's best, is that you live in the cool part of the U.S. as well, meaning you understand the subtleties of dry humor and the importance of the weather and how it sounds when you say "Aboot." You're pretty much the cat's pajama's around here, but you never let it get to your head. Your humility and ability to listen to the terrible puns of some crazy kid from the chat section who wears a chief stan hat and no pants was what sealed the deal for me. You're a cool cat, never change.

-Dimo, even though you've quit, I would hope that you'd still see this; anyways, you were a great, (And terrible...

) influence on me throughout my time here, and you were the person who allowed me to flourish as a moderator and still enjoy my time here, even though I was supposedly immature. With you around, I believed that maturity was something that has a time and place, and that understanding when and where to use it or not to use it was a skill that would allow you to be successful in all scenarios, while still enjoying life.

To the new mods: "You are the emperors now, and you are the czars, and in time, you will all be stars." You guys will be the new faces of the moderating team, and I couldn't wish for anyone else to be there. I stayed long enough for you guys to be comfortable in your positions, but don't think that I'm gone. If you need help, I'll still be here when you need me, so long as you guys are there for each other.

Granted this blog may seem cheesy and kind of cliche for me, but that's who I am and who I always have been. I wish that I could thank all of you for the things you've done, because even the smallest moments in one person's life can have a big impact on another person's.

With that, I'll be on with my new life as a basiler. A special thanks is automatically awarded to those who read the entire blog.
