Well, this is something I started thinking about in Math class today.
So, my math teacher was summing up our year, because today is the last day of class.
Then, he talked about brand name colleges, and how they don't really show how people are.
I thought about it, and completely agree with him. Now I want to share it with you:
Everyone generally thinks a college like Yale/Harvard/Princeton is better than a Community College.
Well, they probably are, in terms of resources and teachers.
Alright, now I want to ask you a question, and please reply.
Who would you think is smarter out of two guys that have the same job: One that went to Harvard, or one that went to a Community College.
If you chose the one that went to Harvard, then I say you are stupid.
They both have the same job, meaning they are equally smart.
You shouldn't really judge people by what college they went to.
In fact, I would bet on the Community College guy for greater success in their future.
Why? Well, because to get into a good college, then the high school years are really important.
The Harvard guy did better in High School, and aced the SAT, which is why he got into Harvard.
While the City College guy didn't do as good in High School.
But as of now, they have the same job, meaning they are of equal intelligence.
Thus, the City College guy worked harder from College to the current time, meaning that he will improve more than the Harvard guy.
See the point now?
Well, I just wanted to share that, and please post your response to this.

Interesting point of view.
Harvard's high averages/etc are mainly because it's easy.
Yes, the teachers are easy graders because they want to keep the school's image up.

Btw, make yourself a banner like mine

How do I make a banner? I'm clueless when using profil3.
Also, just to add to my rant. These brand name colleges are really helpful in getting jobs, though it's kind fo stupid.

Private colleges are more well known for a reason. I wouldn't know about what happens there but the education there is most likely to be of a higher level than a community college. If a person isn't willing to work hard during high school, what is the chance of them working hard in college when most college students tend to party instead? I'm not saying you are wrong but these colleges do come with a certain amount of recognition. In this world you need a bit of recognition to get farther in your careers. When was the last time you saw a well known doctor, lawyer, professor or politician who went to a community college?(And actually is willing to admit to it as a source of the majority of his college education)

Ok, first of all, your rant doesn't make sense. Of course the person who went to an Ivy League college is going to be better than a person who went to a Community College at the same job. The person who went to the Ivy League college is obviously going to have more skills in that area than the person who went to community college. I see what point of view you're trying to reach at, but you have no legitimate argument.
