Wow, where did you get all these stories? I had no idea about the 300 sacks of rice legend. I just thought it was extremely annoying to get all those.

So, before I gave them all back to Wiz (photo 1), I decided to take a break, grab a drink, and read the books. After all, if I borrowed them from Wiz, I had to exchange them with others. The Book of the Little Prince dealt with someone getting stranded in the desert with the Prince. The Prince visited other planets before coming to earth and meeting the narrator who was stranded in the desert. The Prince had a rose in his own planet, but found there were more roses on Earth. That made him more disheartened, but a friendly fox reminded him that the rose on his planet loved him. The rose loved him because he took care of it. Finally, when he decided to return to his own planet, he had to get bitten by a snake. Quite a sad story. Next, I read the story of Shim Chong. The blind beggar,Shim Hakkyu, fell into a ditch. He was helped by some Buddhist monks, who said that if he gave them 300 sacks of rice, they would pray to Buddha to give his sight back. He agreed, but realized he couldn't get 300 sacks of rice. He told his daughter, Shim Chong, his problem. Well, Shim Chong found a way to get the rice by being sacrificed to the Dragon King. So, the Dragon King took Shim Chong to his kingdom under the sea. After a time, she grew sad and asked the Dragon King if she could visit her father. The Dragon King turned her into a lotus flower. The lotus flower was so beautiful that it was sent to the king of the land. Well, one night when Shim Chong left the flower to find her father, the king found her and married her. After a time, she grew sad again and told the King that the only way to make her happy was to hold a banquet for all the blind men in the country. At the end of the banquet, Shim Hakkyu was able to be reunited with his daughter and was able to see again. That was a nice story. The third story was about a tree cutter and his axe. A tree cutter dropped his axe into a river. As he lamented the loss of his axe, the river god came out and asked why the tree cutter was so sad. The tree cutter told the river god about his axe, which fell into the river. The god came out with a gold axe, followed by a silver axe, which the tree cutter both refused. When his axe was retrieved, he honestly said that it was his. The river god let him keep all axes due to his honesty. Well, that was a great way to spend a summer afternoon. Speaking of which, the seasons are changing. *sigh* The leaves are already starting to turn. Experience Level : 45 (89.64%) | |
