Gateway Tablet notebook 2.0GHz dual core M processor 2 gigs of RAM 80 GB hard drive "premium" graphics card 15" widescreen fingerprint reader So now I am in need of some help. I was wondering what I can upgrade on this craptop to make it less umm crap-tastic. And especially a new graphics card, because I am honestly scared to know what 'premium' is and why the heck its in quotations. So yea, any suggestions? ( I dont wantto waste a whole lot of mone, but still. Like I want to be able to play some games on it besides Minesweeper because if i wanted to play that, I would get a Mac (Meh couldn't help myself bashing the macs, they just annoy me o so much) So yea...help plox. I will be will be eternally grateful ^_^ And might even give a little surprise o.0 AND...I just made you all loose The Game ^_^ |

this is why you NEVER EVER go to a guy who claims to be a "professional" or (target, bestbuy, circuitcity, etc. etc) what you do is go on eBay.com. and make sure you buy from a guy with good feedback. trust me. you can get a laptop much better then yours for probably LESS then $1000.....
now. if you truly want to upgrade that mother over priced piece of caca dookie shit crap-top. then go ask MindStormer. he has a profil3 and a Basil ID. he made a sticky thread on Basil witch you can go to and ask any problems related to comps. GoodLuck.

Hmm, I would upgrade the processor to around 3.4 ghz. I'm not sure about if you can add desktop parts to a laptop but maybe get a nice ATI Radeon video card or nVidia 8800 but currently ATI is better. Uhm, the space is kind of crappy try getting a 250 gig or even a 500 if you want to blow a few hundred bucks but yeah. That's all I got and most of it is desktop only I'm guessing.
Maybe just dish out 1000$ like Hawk said. It couldn't be that bad. It sounds decent already but still...It's crap-tastic :]

But you might wanna try this: find the "My computer" icon and right-click it, go to properties, and then go to the "hardware" tab, then click "display adapters", under it- this may give more info on what this "premium" graphics card is hopefully.
Can Maple run on this? If yes, I guess it should at least be a decent one. The overall price is ridiculous. Like someone already said, it IS possible to get a better laptop for A LOT less. I also say ask Mindstormer as to what software/hardware to upgrade.
