This is the first post of 4th job-related series, which (series) will serve as concise guide to I/L Archmagehood. Maybe you'll find a source of motivation here (yes, Doom ). Pictures are included.
So, it follows as this:
1. You leveled to 120, yay! You feel tired if you did that yourself - or not at all if you're lazy and were trained (people do that) - but boost of excitement keeps you from collapsing in your seat. Suddenly a few new quests appear, and one of them suggests you should visit Robeira, your 3rd job instructor.
2. Robeira hands you a recommendation letter (pic), which you take to Gritto (pic) - 4th job instructor and your new mentor. Gritto tells you three stories which are connected to three bosses - Zakum, Pianus and Papulatus. Apparently, you are supposed to take care of them after you advance. (OK...) There is one little problem though: Gritto wants to make sure that you are worth the final advancement, so you have to earn two medals of honor - Heroic Star and Heroic Pentagon. "Use either your strength and courage, or your wisdom and warm heart," so you are told.
3.1. Strength and courage means you have to fight Manon and Griffey to get the medals. This seems to be directed to warriors, since they alone are capable of not dying 15 times in a row there. (That's approximate count of my visits to Manon in a timespan of 30 minutes. You can't say I hadn't tried. ) Most priests and bowmen won't stand a chance (dispel, remember?) So it leaves an option of...
3.2. ...wisdom and warm heart - which also requires a healthy sack of mesos. 10 millions, to be exact. Who would be blunt enough to ask for such gifts? If you have a tamed hog, you probably guessed it - Chief Tatamo of Leafre. He wants to have a Scroll of Secrets (pic), which you can get at 44th floor of Eos Tower.
4. Well, one way or another, now you're holding your medals of honor (pic). All what's left is to visit Gritto and - voila! - you are an Archmage! You are also awarded three skills, namely Big Bang (to blow up monsters with a power of surrounding energy), Chain Lightning (I/L only - to fry up to six monsters) and a separate skillbook of Maple Hero (to boost stats of entire party). Awesome, isn't it?

'But wait, where's Blizzard?'
I'll come to that in the next section.
