Because it was free. -

We are so cheap. This one time, to save 30 cents (yes, 30 cents!), we broke up into two different families for the sale.

Today was a different story.
It started out where we dropped off my sister, picked up my grandpa's meds, and was just about to go home from the local grocery store. We were at that intersection when my mom made a U-turn.
What? That wasn't the way to our house.
My mom and my grandpa suddenly got out of the car with the WINDOWS DOWN. What's up with that?
I look outside and see them carrying a huge piece of wood that was longer than our car. They started to put it through the trunk and backseat. They were taking it. (See picture 1.) They tried to tie down the trunk cover with a plastic bag, which turned out to be no help as we started to drive again, my grandpa carrying it from the front seat. It kept making a thunk, thunk sound. (Note: The trunk cover now doesn't work.)
So my grandma was reaching her hand over me to put over the piece of wood. Not carrying it, but I think she was trying. I thought about if we made a turn, that the wood would (lol.) scratch someone's car. (See picture 2.)
Anyways, the next moments were utter silence.
Then I finally asked,"Why did we steal this piece of wood?"
No answer.
Then my mom said,"It was free."
