Ice Cream in a Bag
INGREDIENTS
· 1 cup half-and-half cream
· 1/4 cup sugar
· 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 4 cups coarsely crushed ice cubes
· 3/4 cup salt
DIRECTIONS
1. In a small resealable plastic bag, combine the cream, sugar and vanilla. Press out air and seal. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the ice and salt; add the sealed small bag. Seal the large bag; place in another large resealable plastic bag and seal. Shake and knead for 5-7 minutes or until cream mixture is thickened. Serve immediately or freeze.
Makes one large serving (2 scoops I'm guessing)
Tips: You may want to back off on the sugar, it was a bit too sweet for me.
Don't use super finely crushed ice, it'll melt. Just use about 1 cm size ice chunks.
Use a cloth on your hands or gloves or something when kneading the ice and ice cream, or else you'll have cold hands.
I suggest you eat it right away, this stuff melts fast!
Even though when you're making this and reading the recipe right now, it may seem like there's no way this would work, it does. Sure the texture is a little strange, but it's quick, it tastes good, and it's easy.
I read some user reviews, and you can mix in stuff like crushed oreos or cocoa powder
Probably only want to put a tsp to a tbs of any mix-ins. Happy Eating!
