i probably forgot to mention that i did get my ears pierced... at claires.. which was probably a mad mistake since having a teenagers pierce your ear is always bad, but my mom didnt want to search for a tatto parlor so that's where we went. i got them pierced and then 8 wks later i took my starter earrings out and could change my earrings.
however, my ears kept getting bateria in the pierced area, causing cysts in my ears which made putting my earrings in and taking them out extremely painful. i did use cleaning solution but that didnt seem to help if the bacteria got deep in the piercing. anyways, it would hurt and bleed a little, yea.. not good. the cysts would heal up in a week or 2 tho, but new ones keep coming x_x
so yesterday, my mom was like "dont wear ur earrings to sleep anymore" and i was like "but my piercing would close up then" and my mom assured me that "it wont close up"
and in the morning, the pierced area DID close up -__- great going mom..
so now im just gonna give up piercing.. i'll let my cysts go away and let my holed ears heal. maybe i'll try again next year..
oh well.. i'm growing my hair long, so its hard to see earrings with long hair..

= I got my earrings pierced at ICING by CLAIRES =O My ear/earrings are fine. My friend's friend got her earrings pierced at claires and she got an infection too. Glad I did it at icing

ouch! i got my 2 piercings for $70. it was by pros, it was well worth it. please please please be careful with who pierces u. It could've turned out really bad if u had a fever or sumthing like permanent scarring that'd be 
i hope those heal well and please go to pros, licensed professionals! its more expensive but really worth it

Oh, by the way, I saw your picture on the Top Listed on RMD. Amulet Heart.  I love Shugo Chara. I don't see what the difference in the look factors between Amu and Amulet Heart though (Tadase, wtf is up with you? [Though I am an AmuxIkuto fan~]). I just signed up to RMD so it's nice to see it there (I saw it in the Anime Artisits! thing first) Nice job~

Ofcourse the best way to get peirces anywhere is using a sterilysied [if i spelled right, prolly not] needle.
Usually, a regular infection is common- in that case you should've kept the the earring inside no matter if you have bacteria in it, there's is a paste called VitaMorphen[?] I don't know if it's sold there that usually deals with the infection and keeps the hole in a normal form [i.e doesn't get closed fast or doesn't leave all this gooy thing around] though you need to clean the cream after ten minutes from the hole and the earring.
Unless it's a serious infection, then you should visit and dermotologist and take off the earring immediatly [I don't know how you check the difference between a regular bacteria and a serious one that can spread into other parts of the body, but I think it's prolly having a fever and such]. Gettin pierced in those little stores is very bad, if your mother was too lazy to find a tattoo parlor you should've wait since health is the most important.
A big mistake is when people/ ignorant parlor holders/ teenager piercer that works in a small store in your case say that the way to tread the hole is with alcohol.
After a week or two you can start playing with it [I mean like twirling it inside the hole] so after the next six weeks it will be much easier and safer to take out and in the pierce.
After those eight weeks are over, you MUST disinfect the earring you are going to take off and put in the new ones by first washing them with ethanol [alcohol] and then putting some of that VitaMerphen paste [or w.e cream you got over there] and then place it, before you place it, it is recommended to clean your hole and around it with ethanol too.
By the way- each place to pierce it got it's own healing-time. from my experience the lobe [if there was the place you were pierced] is the faster one to heal, and if you did a helix then it has some other ways of treatment since it'sa very gentle place and blood gets very slowly to there so it takes a long time for it to heal.
Also, the earring should be not tight to the skin so it won't hurt while you sleep and it will heal faster also.
Also, it's the best way to wait around couple of months- month depends on places from a pierce to pierce, and if you'll like to re-pierce one place the best way is to wait until it fully recovers and oen more week [for the inner flesh].
That's all I have to say the next time you will get pierce [if you'll want to].
