~Final Comparison~

NOTE: ALL calculated values concerning damage % as well as final damage output are AVERAGE

Level 150 Bow Master

Stats: (25 AP in the beginning, 5 AP added at 3rd Job Extension, 5 AP added at 4th Job Extension) + 745 AP gained from 149 level ups = 780 AP to Distribute.

Equips:
Arund (110 W.ATK, +3 Dex, 0 Slots requires 85 STR) Note: Most commonly used Bow used by Bow Masters at this time.
Zakum Helm (+15 STR and +15 DEX)
Gloves (11 W.ATK, 0 Slots)
Pink Adv Cape (3 W.ATK, +10 Dex, 0 Slots)
Arzuna (+4 STR, +26 DEX, 0 Slots)
Shoes (+10 DEX, 0 Slots)
Earrings (+10 DEX, 0 Slots)
Warrior Elixer (+12 W.ATK)

85 STR (66 +19)
780 DEX (706 +74)
Mastery 60%
136 Total W.ATK

Max Damage: [(DEX * 3.4 + STR) / 100] * Weapon Attack
Min Damage: [(DEX * 0.9 * 3.4 * Skill Mastery + STR) / 100] * Weapon Attack
Min Damage: (Max Damage + Min Damage) / 2

lvl 150 BM Damage Range: 2063 ~ 3722 (2892 Average Damage)

lvl 30 Hurricane: 100% damage per arrow, shoots 8.33 Arrows per Second or 833% damage per second.
lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Critical Shot, no SE:

0.6 (100%) + 0.4 (100% + 100%) * 8.33 = 1,166% damage per second.

lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Critical Shot and lvl 10 SE:

0.55 (100%) + 0.45 (100% + 220%) * 8.33 = 1,658% damage per second.

Final Result:

lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit: 2892* 11.66 = 33,720 damage per second
lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit and lvl 10 SE: 2892* 16.58 = 47,949 damage per second

Level 150 Night Lord

Stats: (25 AP in the beginning, 5 AP added at 3rd Job Extension, 5 AP added at 4th Job Extension) + 745 AP gained from 149 level ups = 780 AP to Distribute.

Equips:
Scarab (55 W.ATK, +3 LUK, 0 Slots requires 110 DEX) Note: Most commonly used Claw by Night Lords at this time.
Zakum Helm (+15 STR, +15 DEX and +15 LUK)
Gloves (11 W.ATK, 0 Slots)
Pink Adv Cape (3 W.ATK, +10 LUK, 0 Slots) Note: This can also be +10 Dex instead, but in this case LUK boost is equal to DEX displacement.
Sauna Robe (+20 DEX, 0 Slots) Note: This can also be +20 LUK instead, but in this case DEX displacement is the same as LUK boost.
Shoes (+10 DEX, 0 Slots)
Earrings (+10 DEX, 0 Slots)
Warrior Elixer (+12 W.ATK)
Ilbi Throwing Stars (+27 W.ATK)

19 STR (4 +15)
110 DEX (55 +55)
742 LUK (717 +28)
Mastery 60%
108 Total W.ATK

Max Damage (Non-L7 Formula): [(LUK * 3.6 + STR + DEX) / 100]* Weapon Attack
Min Damage (Non-L7 Formula): (LUK * 0.9 * 3.6 * Skill Mastery + STR + DEX) / 100 * Weapon Attack

Max Damage (L7 Formula): ((5.0*LUK)/100)*Weapon Attack)
Min Damage (L7 Formula): ((2.5*LUK)/100)*Weapon Attack)

lvl 150 NL Damage Range (Non-L7 Formula): 1697 ~ 3024 (2360 Average Damage)
lvl 150 NL Damage Range (L7 Formula): 2003 ~ 4006 (3004 Average Damage)

lvl 30 Triple Throw: Throws 3 stars at 150% damage per star.
lvl 30 Triple Throw and lvl 30 Critical Throw:

Average Critical is calculated as: 0.5 (150%) + 0.5 (150% + 100%) = 200% per star in TT.

Based on various data, it seems the Scarab with Booster attacks about 1.5 times per second. Therefore TT's damage % is calculated as:

200% * 3 * 1.5 = 900%

Combined with Shadow Partner: 900% * 1.5 = 1350% damage per second.

If combined with lvl 10 SE, the damage % per star in TT becomes: 0.45 (150%) + 0.55 (150% + 220%) = 271% per star.
Which means when calculated with SP and the Claw Attacking Speed, the total % output per second is:

271% * 3 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 1,829% damage per second.

Final Result:

TT (Non-L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and no SE: 2360 * 13.5 = 31,860 damage per second
TT (Non-L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and lvl 10 SE: 2360 * 18.29 = 43,164 damage per second

TT (L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and no SE: 3004 * 13.5 = 40,554 damage per second
TT (L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and lvl 10 SE: 3004 * 18.29 = 54,943 damage per second

Alpha003 said: "There was a point missed in Scavenger's formula that may very well put Hurricane above TT.

The fact that Bowmasters and Marksmen get a 2nd Mastery...putting their mastery at 90% instead of 60%.

This would give them an extreme boost to their minimum damage and thus make them more powerful, I believe."

Since many people are pointing out the lack of Bow Expertise, I shall add it in here.

Recall my original calculations for the level 150 Bow Master

85 STR (66 +19)
780 DEX (706 +74)

lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit and lvl 10 SE: 2892* 16.58 = 47,949 damage per second"

Now add in level 30 Bow Expertise (Passive: 90% Mastery, +10 W.ATK)

Level 150 Bow Master

85 STR (66 +19)
780 DEX (706 +74)
Mastery 90%
146 Total W.ATK
lvl 150 BM Damage Range: 3260 ~ 3996 (3628 Average Damage)

Final Result:

lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit: 3628* 11.66 = 42,302 damage per second
lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit and lvl 10 SE: 3628* 16.58 = 60,152 damage per second

Now recall the Night Lord's damage output

If we're to compare the Bow Master's Hurricane combined with Bow Expertise, then Night Lord should be compared with her own passive damage booster: Venom.

Description: Throws a throwing star that's been smeared with poison. With a given success rate, the monster that's been struck will be poisoned. It can be used against one monster up to 3 times.

Level 30: Attack 60, for 4 secs, success rate 30%

Unfortunately, I do not know the definite formula for level 30 Venom. I can post what I know(?) about it, but from there I'm forced to guess.

Venom's damage is based on...

-Its skill level (durr...)
-AP (DEX and LUK, possibly STR, but not INT)
-Not W.ATK
-The monster's HP (Note: Venom doesn't work on Boss Monsters)
-Poison damages 1.5 times per second

Additionally, my friend has stated that his level 10 Venom (Level 10: Attack 40, for 2 secs, success rate 18%) was able to inflict 3,000 to 14,000 damage twice on Jr. Newties. Based on this, I'll just assume level 30 Venom can deal around 4,500 ~ 21,000 damage (12,750 average damage) in this comparison. Therefore...

Success rate = 1 - (0.7^6) = 0.882351

0.882351(1.5*12,750) = Approximately 16,875 damage per second after poison is activated for 4 seconds

This is about 202,500 damage total added in 12 seconds

Over time, activation rate becomes negligible and the damage is calculated as an addition of 229,500 damage.

Final Results

In 12 Seconds:

Night Lord

TT (Non-L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and no SE: 12 * 2360 * 13.5 + 202,500 = 584,820 damage in 12 seconds
TT (Non-L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and lvl 10 SE: 12 * 2360 * 18.29 + 202,500 = 720,472 damage in 12 seconds

TT (L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and no SE: 12 * 3004 * 13.5 + 202,500 = 689,148 damage in 12 seconds
TT (L7 Formula) with lvl 30 SP and lvl 10 SE: 12 * 3004 * 18.29 +202,500 = 861,817 damage in 12 seconds

Bow Master

lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit: 12 * 3628* 11.66 = 507,625 damage in 12 seconds
lvl 30 Hurricane with lvl 20 Crit and lvl 10 SE: 3628* 16.58 = 721,824 damage in 12 seconds

Urm so what you're saying, Luke, is that NL's can pwn BM's XD ^_^
I'm so happy! XD

If they get SE.

Nice calculations Luke! But you're a marksman anyway... lol... And yeah, NLs would need SE... which would be kind of... strange... like Slyferz showed it...
Bands: It Dies Today, Architects, I Killed The Prom Queen

It's a very correct analysis of a boss battle maybe when a Night Lord would have sharp eyes perhaps, but in that case venom is arbitrary and thus makes bow masters better than night lords.
In the analysis of training to be fair each job should be able to use their own skills eg. (only bow masters would get sharp eyes, but night lords would be able to count venom in the formula) in doing this you provide a more accurate display of training 1v1 and boss 1v1 (either way, according to your calculations, bow masters still win)

you forgot one major skill for bowmaster, Concentrate. I can see the characters are being compared at lv 150 so there's an extra 2 points left over if you have maxed hurricane, mastery and sharp eyes, those 2 points into concentrate adds 12 weapon atk

stupid to take SE for NL's into account... shoulndt be done so, just with their own skills only.

All cool but they can only outdamage BM's when having 10 SE? without BM's having concentrate, and at least more then 10 in SE at that lvl?
Blogs: GOBIES <3

This comparison thread is outdated (majority of the Archers back then had 10 SE at most, weapons, etc.) Other than that, I just entered in values for most situations. There are far more, I just put in general values for people to look for themselves. I'm aware how unrealistic some comparisons are (classic "hey, help me beat you" argument), but some Sins would just whine for not putting in SE values (Sin: Yeah, BMs may do more damage. But if only we had SE...)

Just a thought.

and LOL @ fictitious bowmaster having better equips than me! "

Yes I know. Funding and time! But some people just like to see the mathematical proof of potential values.
