Zakum survival: Vista -

Ok, since I have been asked numerous times how I obtained my zhelm with a vista, and "cuz im teh 133t pwnz0/2" doesn't suffice, I am going to write what I do here.

(Remember, my guide is mostly for not dcing, NOT as much for not dying)

First step:
The night before a run, defrag your computer.(Not needed, but helps lag)

Second step:
Click on "My Computer" In the top middleish, click on "System properties". link Now, click on "Advanced System Properties" link If windows "needs permission to continue", click accept. Now, click here. Now click this one and press apply. Your computer should look all old and boring and dullish.

Third Step: Ok, so now you are at zakum. You have defragged and completed step two. Now, turn off all programs running. Now, turn off your maplestory music (less lag), turn graphics to low, turn shaking screen using skills off, and using "game options", turn everything else in that box off except party invite. (Also suggested, turn off charms, rings, pets, and flashy weapons.)

Fourth Step: Zakum has started! Usually, people wait 10 seconds before fighting, to help the lag. If your zakum run has a curse arm break, alt tab there. I suggest right clicking your desktop and clicking "refresh". Go back into maple, and continue the fight.

Fifth Step: Repeat fourth step- Alt tab at the death of all arms (if you have no curse arm break). Also, alt tab at 50% of first body, 100% of second body, 50% of second body, 100% of third body, and 50% of third body. Also, DO NOT TAKE SCREEN SHOTS, ESPECIALLY AFTER ZAKUM IS DEAD, THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC DC FOR ME

Tips:

When zakum does 1/1, don't be lazy and wait for a priest to heal. Heal yourself whenever you get below 3-4k hp.
For all classes, especially if you have low hp, tell the priest that you are alt tabbing. If you are a mage, try using pet auto mp (if the run leaders allow it).
It is safer, but less reliable for not d/cing~ try, instead of alt tabbing, setting the graphics to high. Wait a few seconds, then reset to low. Usually I do this as well as alt tab at 50% of 3rd body.
Hug the wall when you alt tab or change graphics.
Use protection skills (meso guard, magic guard, hyperbody) before alt tabbing or changing graphics.
