Okay so Maple Story is pissing me off... -

Okay so I'm pretty pissed off right now. Even though I love playing Maple Story I'm angry at it, mostly at the designers... well actually I wouldn't say that, It's more like I'm angry at Game Guard because this is all their faults. Well the deal is, If I haven't mentioned it all ready I'm only able to play Maple Story weeks at a time. As weird as it sounds it's because I switch off between my Divorced Parents, and them being divorced I have two separate computers. Now the Computer I use at my Mothers house is a Laptop with Windows XP and the computer at my Fathers House (which I'm on currently) is a High Powered Linux Machine. Obviously right away you'd notice why I only play Maple Story weeks at a time. Maple Story is a Windows only based Video Game. Now today I came to a point of desperation and the reason why is because my character Narcomoeba is at 92%, then before I could get him to level I had to leave for my Dad's house. Well I've been running through google like crazy to find a way to download the game on Linux and play it. Well after going through many informational web sites. I come across one that explains (OH MY GOD!) how to play Maple Story on Linux. Although it sounded good it made it so that I had to actually go into the game and rewrite the code a little bit. So I figured okay I'll look a bit more and if I can't find anything at all I'll try that. So as I kept looking I found a thread that explained about how you could simply download a Windows Emulator and play the game like that. So sounded easy enough, but as I read on a guy explained that that does not work and the reason why is because of Game Guard. Being a Hack and/or Bot detecting system it is able to pick up the change in data that you are using an Emulator to play the game! It sees it as a threat (possibly because an Emulator is a form of hacking the game to make it work on a program that works and acts like Windows) and shuts it down. So Now I'm pretty angry so I read on for some more Information. Then came up a subject about the guy I read about that hacked the game to make it work on Linux. Apparently alone through new patches Game Guard has learned to pick up this too and shut it down, but even with out the annoyance of Game Guard, It turns out they don't operate the program that allows you to change the games code any more! So everything is a failure. It literally is Impossible to play Maple Story on Linux, all thanks to Game Guard us Linux users are doomed to never play Maple Story. Well I guess I still got my Laptop at my Moms house...
