I've been meaning to post this recipe for a while but haven't gotten to it. Anyway these snickerdoodles are delicious with a glass of milk, and if you're like me, snickerdoodles are the awesomest cookies ever. I made this recipe, not sure if it was just the replacing of shortening with vegetable oil or what but they came out a little greasy if you eat them right off the pan. But that's okay XD It's good grease, not like McD's. Also my baking soda expired so they were flat After reading a couple reviews on these beforehand like I always do, they all said to handmix for a better texture. But they also said electric mixer doesn't change the taste.

Yields about 3 dozen cookies (depending on how big you make them)

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup butter, softened
* 1/2 cup shortening
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 3 tablespoons white sugar
* 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
3. Mix the 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture (rolling them in a bowl with high walls or in a plastic bag is easiest). Do NOT be afraid to overcoat or run out, you can make more mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
4. Bake 8 minutes on the dot for best results. Remove immediately from baking sheets and set on wire rack.

Yum Yum!
