ActionScript 3 sucks! -

ERAFGGHDSfmvsd0ffopmtjndsmck I FUCKING HATE ACTIONSCRIPT 3.

For those that do not know, ActionScript is the scripting language built into Flash.

Currently, my knowledge exists inside of the previous version, ActionScript 2.0. But NOW, with Flash CS3, Adobe went ahead and redid it into.... ajsdhajs a programming language, basicly. It WAS a scripting language, hence the SCRIPT, part of ActionScript. In Flash CS3, you can choose to use either.

This site: link is now, completly composed of Flash(due to my brother's request). Written, completly in ActionScript 2. Now, I have started the attempt at converting it to 3. So, with the converting process, I had to delete EVERYTHING. Because of course, it already being AS2, it's gonna have a lot of errors when the file is in AS3. So, rather then converting it, I have to start from complete scratch and rewrite every piece of code in the whole thing.(Of course I still have the old AS2 file! Wouldn't delete that) And, as it turns out, the blog is an external file, powered by xml. Hence, those "This is XML TWO" things I put there. But, as everything else, the file was written in AS2. So, even though it's external, the main file you're attaching it to handles all of the settings and everything, sooo.. I just went through an hour and a half of rewriting the whole thing. It's a really short code, actually.. but Lee Brimelow screwed me up on everything cause he's doing the xml in RSS, which Flash handles differently.. but as it so happens, that's more complex! So I had to do everything SIMPLER, then he was, because I wasn't even aware the handling differences between RSS, and.. non-RSS. The blog is functional in AS3, and attached to the main movie now. But that's it.... everything else is dead do to lack of code.

It's like... jsdfijasfiuhsudjidoiashd! I can't even begin to explain how much I hate it. Soo.. if I can use AS2, you might say why don't I just stick with it if I like it so much...... unfortunatley, the asses at Adobe put a bunch of very useful benefits into AS3. And all of the web designers, and flash teachers are saying it's worth learning.. bastards. And ironicly, all of the things that they praise in it so much, are generally why I hate it so much!! What they find "good", I find annoying and stupid. I FUCKING HATE IT! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
