Is it? Into the blackness, I see myself fall, Through the thunder of rain, my futile call, Dissipates into the nothingness. I'm left, soaking up this loneliness, My soul, the very core is breaking, My heart, left as yours for the taking; That calming smile, precocious image, Simplicity and elegance, reflected in your visage; That treacherous beauty and divine grace, And all I'm left with, that bitter taste Of loneliness. Out of the blackness, I find myself crawling, Now in the silence, I still am calling, But none are there to hear. This sorrow alone, mine alone to bear. Was it worth that smile? That image?
