Memories and made up tales -

I suppose I've been dreaming a lot recently, more so in Albany, but at least a bit here in Manchester. I'm fairly certain that at least 2 of the dreams were the results of food (Beef Lo Mein and way too much Easter ham). I some how highly doubt I've ever have the awkward social interaction with Erika or the amazing burning down of a hotel/Borders with all my stuff in it from Eric driving a jeep into a truck with a cherry picker and running it into a transformer. Or the various dreams involving Ryan and Nancy and co. in very strange circumstances.

I suppose ultimately it feels like my life is colliding with itself hundreds of miles away from me, and there's absolutely no control over anything anymore. Welcome to New Hampshire I suppose.

I have just recently begun a habit of listening to Pandora practically all the time. This has lead to two very interesting circumstances occurring. The first is that I've found a treasure trove of new music to become interested in. The second is that most of it falls into the folk category, which is apparently the latest sink hole for Indie. I suppose if emo is rock than this makes as much sense as anything else. However, I've taken to listening to Regina Spektor, Casey Dienel, Belle and Sebastian, Kate Nash, and A Fine Frenzy in alarming volumes. I'm actually probably forgetting a few. It's hard to believe I've gone this direction, but che sara sara (not que sera sera, same meaning different languages folks).

It seems that alot of singers are actually masterful story tellers. I haven't really thought of it this way until recently, but I can see where they have to make a story make sense in lyrics. This is no small task, and yet they leave it nearly completely open with plenty of room for interpretation. Throw in the music, and it's perhaps as intricate as any novel. This will rarely be appreciated by most people I suppose, but that's not the sort of thing that makes a hook or a single.

Last night my head was a blaze like the hotel in my dream. The sparks exploded like a busted transformer. On the inside I screamed as everything I knew burned away.
