FaavtroMeh.... I use more smilies then I've ever seen, but I never been judged by anyone 
I've seen a bazillion accounts where people are like "People think I'm older because I type good but I'm only 12", but it's never happened to me...
Though you'll hardly ever see me use a smiley on Basil.... Basil is my.. bland character. I did a test and found that people that are never nice or never show any emotions get less shit from random idiots. My old happy Basil days all I got was constant people yelling at me for nothing -.- soooo now, to prevent anger, I just stick with the guy that gets less crap from idiots, and don't get pissed off as much.
