Maplestory is an mmorpg ( Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). It's based on making a character and travel the world of maplestory, whack mushrooms and other monsters, meet online buddies, and other kind of interactions
-When you first see the game it will look weird, maybe childish ? but sure that when you go on further in it, level up, whack more monsters, maybe boring, but I guarantee that you will be addicted to it like I am after playing it for some time
Graphics
-The graphics of this game isn't the best, unlike online games like WolfTeam, wow and guild wars this game is supposed to have weak graphics, but from it's kind of games the graphics sure are awesome, I give it about 8.5/10 .
Sounds
-Sounds have been improved since patch #43, it actually isn't as annoying as most online games sounds, I give sounds 8/10
Gameplay
-As a beginner you'll have absolutely NO troubles figuring this game out, and it's controls, everything is guided easily at first making you easily rank up to top, 10/10
Pros
-Meet online friends
-Never ending yet never boring game
-Easy to solve out and easy to get a grip on
Cons
-Lots of hackers which might stop your easy leveling up
-Some people may harrase you as you're a newb in this game
Guide to Maplestory
-Where to get it
1-Korean maple story
if you're korean, or can read and speak it, with a korean version of windows then get this game , it's items are WAY cheaper than the global one, and with 4th jobs advancment (Still in january for Global version)
Where to get it : Search google
2-Global verion
The worldwide version of maple story, and the maple I play , it's english of course, and still updated, in january it'll be about the same as Korean version
Where to get it : http://maplestory.nexon.net/
3-Japanese maple story
Same as korean but for japan
4-EMS
European maple, google it, only european IP addresses
-Creating your character
After downloading Maple Story, you'll need to create an account on nexon site, the same site you downloaded the game from, then log into the game with that ID
Creating your IN GAME character
After creating an account on nexon's website, and logging with it in the game, you'll first need to choose server from those servers
Windia - Scania - Broa(Recommended) - Bera(NOT recommended) - Bellocan - Kradia(NOT recommended) - Mardia -Khaini ( Recommended)
After choosing server click create a character to your right
You'll start in an island called Maple island, kill some snails, walk around, beg for mesos , and easily (No more than 2 hours total) you'll get to lvl10
Raising your stats
By each lvl up you get 5 ability points and 3 skill points
To check your abilities press S
To check your skills press K
It doesn't matter what skills you raise as a beginner
There is four jobs/classes available when you make a character
1-Swordsman
2-Magician
3-Archer
4-Thief
So here's the explanation for each
1-Swordsman
To become a swordman you need 2 requirments
1)You must be lvl10+
2)You must have 35strength points
You MUST get 35 str before lvl10 , or you'll have to wait without becoming a warrior
About swordsman
-You must have dexterity double your level, untill you cap it at 50 or 60, your choice
-Rest into pure str
-DO NOT TOUCH INT OR LUK
2-Magician
To become a magician you need two requirements
1-Be at least level 8
2-Have 20 int. points
About Magician
-Only job that's gained by lvl8
-Luk should be = (Ur lvl+3)
-Rest into int
3-Archers
To become an archer you need two requirements
1-Be at least lvl10
2-Have 25 dex points
About archers
-Gained by lvl10
-Str should be = (ur lvl +5)
-Rest into dex
4-Thief
To become a thief you need two requirements
1-Be at least lvl 10
2-have 25 dex
About thieves
-Gained by lvl10
-Dex should be double ur lvl
-Rest into luk
Gaining jobs
You need to go talk to your trainer in certain cities, go to those cities by taxi or something, here's cities corresponding to jobs
Archer = Henesys (Mushroom park, tree house)
Magician = Ellinia (Top of ellinia, magic library)
Swordsman = Perion (Top of perion)
Thief = Kerning (Jazz bar)
In depth jobs
After lvl30 (AT lvl 30) you can get 2nb job advance, which is stronger, and better, you need to go to your trainers (Same places above) and get 2nd jobs
-Second jobs available
Swordsman --> Page/Fighter/Spearman
Page = More mana points and little bit more HP
Spearman --> Little bit more man and little bit more HP (But gets a skill that makes him most HP and MP)
Fighter --> Awesome HP and little mana points
Magician --> Wizard/Cleric
Wizard --> Fire poison or Ice lightning
FP : Fire and poison skills, slow lvl, strong damage
IL : Ice and lightning skills, fast lvl , weak damage
Clerics --> Healing powers (Don't need HP potions saving $$ )
Archer --> Hunter / Crossbow man
Hunter --> Fast leveling, uses normal bows, stable damage
Crossbowman --> Normal leveling, uses cross bows, strong damage
Thief --> Assassin / Bandit
Assassin --> Uses stars and shurikens, AWESOME damage, speed, yet expensive
Bandit --> Uses knives and such, stable high damage, normal speed, not expensive at all
My favorite jobs
1-Assassin : You'll have best damage, speed, good HP and MP, but you'll be defamed since you kill steal (Without noticing you WILl, hated job, yet AWESOME). Keeps good forever, yet maybe boring since only one fighting skill till lvl70 (Called lucky 7, throw 2stars)
2-Spearman : AWESOME damage, slow yes but best skills, turns ugly at lvl120 (Other jobs will OWN him)
3-FP wizard : Awesome damage, rarely gets hit, keeps good, even turns better by lvl70 and 120
4-Archers : You'll lvl sloooow till lvl35, but you'll have awesome damage and great skills
In depth skills
Each job and 2nd job gets diff. skills, but I won't go in 2nd jobs, only 1st jobs
Swordsman
1-Improving HP recovery : eeeew, this basically gives you some poor HP while you're standing doing nothing Crusader (Sader)
Spearman --> Dragon Knight (dk)
Page --> White Knight (WK)
Rogue
Assassin --> Hermit
Bandit --> Chief bandit
Magician
Wizard --> Mage (I/L or F/P)
Cleric --> Priest
Archers
Crossbow man --> Sniper
Hunter --> Ranger
Pros and cos
Crusader : Most normal HP, yet it's considered weakest damage, and it's skills (Will talk about) is VERY weak comparing to WK and dk
Dragon Knight : Best skills probably among 3rd jobs, he can do highest damage rates along with sins and maintain good looking weapons and highest MP and HP (If using hyperbody, look at 2nd job skills)
White Knight : Elemental master , possesses awesome damage rates, higher than dragon knight, when fighting elemental monsters, yet is VERY weak when goes against bosses (Since bosses are non-elemental)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hermit : Takes lots of cash (mesos) but VERY strong when coming to damage rates, and fastest class (Hated since it kill steals other classes)
Chief Bandit : He gets faster than 2nd job, takes lots of money IN SKILLS, not for weapons or anything, good balanced class
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mages : Gets stronger than 2nd jobs, IL gets awesome skills, but burning pots MIGHT cost more money than you expect
Priests : Gets more healing powers, but remains weak when coming to damage O_o
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ranger : Gets good skills, fast, and with good damage, but slow leveling
Crossbow : Same as rangers, but slow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skills for 2nd jobs
Yea I know weird placings, but since 3rd job skills depend on 2nd, so they're after each other
Fighter skills
Sword mastery : It gives you more accuracy when using swords, if swords is ur weapon of choice, this is a MUST to max
Axe mastery : Same as sword, make sure to max it if you're using axes
Final attack~Sword/Axe : Gives a final blow with either axe or sword in hand, with a certain success rate, depends on ur weapon of choice, level this later
Sword/Axe booster : Uses HP and MP to boost the speed of ur weapon in hand, either axe or sword
Rage : Skill why people choose fighter class, Boost the W.Atk of your party but lower your def (You'll lose about 10more HP each hit, and deal more 100 )
Power Guard : Skill useful for bosses and why people go HP warriors, blow some of the damage taken to blow it in the monster, at max return 40% dmg
Page skills
Sword master : look in fighter
Blunt weapon mastery : Same as SMastery, but for blunt weapons
Final Attack BW/Swords : Same as fighters
BW/Sword booster : Same as fighters
Threaten : Lowers W.Atk and def. of enemy
Power Guard : Look @ Fighter skills
Spearman skills
Polearm / Spear mastery : Same as other masteries
Final attack PA/Spears : Same as other FAttacks
Boosters : Same as other boosters
Iron Will : Inc. the def. of your party (W.Def and M.Def )
Hyper Body : Inc. the HP and MP of the party around you (Best skill for swordsmen, why ppl choose spearman)
NOTE : You MUST inc. only ONE mastery (Max mastery), ONE booster ( Leave booster at lvl6) and ONE final attack (You may not touch it if you want, either this or stack like 15 SP then use at once, so that you dun mess with your attacks at it's earlier levels)
Some spearman choose to by hybrid (Use PA and spears) in that case inc. both masteries and leave FA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I/L wizard skills
Mp eater : Gets some MP of the monster you killed (Useable at lvl50 monsters )
Meditation : Boost the M.Atk of the party around you for some time, max later after MP eater
Teleport :COOOl, teleports using arrows and the hotkey for the skill, but uses TOO MUCH mp (60 MP). Leave at level 1
Slow : meh, slows the monsters speed around you, crappy
Cold Beam : Uses ice to attack one monster, good against fire monsters, elemental (DUH)
Lightning bolt : Creates thunder around you to attack lots of monsters, good against mobs, but weak till lvl8 (Lvl8 for SKILL).
Note : You should inc. teleport as soon as you get the job, then inc. LBolt / CBeam, then the other that you didn't touch, you'll be at lvl50 when you max both, inc. MP eater
Fire Poison Wizard
MP eater :Same as IL
Meditation : Same as IL
Tele : Same as IL
Slow : Same as IL
Fire arrow : Creates an arrow of fire, good damage against ice monsters ( 1.5damage).
Poison Brace :Creates poison bubble that looks like a fart ,poisons enemies
Cleric skills
MP eater : Same
Heal : Heals members in party and get exp from it, AWESOME lvling while training with spearman (Most HP with HBody)
Invincible : Dec. W.Dmg recieved, meh
Tele : Same
Bless :Temporarily increases the weapon def., magic def., accuracy and avoidability of all party members around the area
Holy arrow : Attack with a holy arrow, good damage against undead monsters
