On Feb 2008...
South Korea's beloved #1 treasure of the nation, Soong Rye Moon (also known as Nam Dae Moon [South Gate]) was burnt down to a crisp... Five hundred years of history was wasted away in ashes... in one night.
The estimated cost to recreate the original South Gate is around 20 billion South Korean Won which is approximately 21.1 billion USD...
The estimated damage (they say) equals 380 TRILLION South Korean Won which is approximately 400.9 TRILLION USD.
But how can we put a price on Nation's #1 treasure that held 500 years of history???
Grief and sorrow will not bring back our lost South Gate...
but I still can't stop my tear...
