Like a lot of you basilers, I'm in grade 11, one year away from graduation. But they're trying to force us to grow up way before I'm ready too.

This Friday, we choose our courses for grade 12. Our final year of high school. The year that is probably going to decide our futures. Well, the thing is I have no idea what my future is going to be. I have no clue what I want to do in life. And as I sit here thinking, all my classmates are pursuing their dreams of being doctors and lawyers which they've had in mind since they were four.

I recently gave up my dream of becoming a pharmacist after getting a 51% in both Math and Biology.

However, recently I've been looking online and through booklets and I've started to lean away from math and science (which my parents have been forcing onto me since I was a kid), and towards things that have to do with people, like Philosophy(which I managed to get a 87% in) and Law which I am taking this semester. However, I don't know about any career opportunities in Philosophy unless I become a philosophy teacher (lol) and I don't know how well i am going to do in Law, so it is very up in the air right now.

I'm so screwed.

You're very far from screwed. In fact, I think your situation is better than your friends who say they know their career from age four (most likely what their parents told them to do). Some of those people who go straight to a 4 year college find out that 1 year in that that career was not for them. I suggest you go to community college, take some general education, and find out your real path. At least this way you'll know what your plan is going to be before committing, and at the same time you broaden your learning.

And I say don't worry about not having any career opportunities in Philosophy, that's just propaganda to get you into dime a dozen majors like accounting to get you behind a cubicle all day (lol sry accounting majors). Just study what you like doing.

Me too! I don't have a clue on what I'm going to with my life.

I recently took a test to apply for this private high school and I passed with flying colors, then they gave me a brochure of the careers I'd be able to study, after giving it a quick reading, I realized that... growing up sucks. >.>

you dont have to pick your career until your in college
