So we arrived there sunday late, settled in the house where we'd already been 4 years ago. First day there was onstant snowfall, and I don't mean a little. It came down in tons and it did for about 30 hours, causing us to seize skiing past 2am on monday. But the snow was nicely flattened as we got there tuesday and during tus-wed-thu we had the BEST sun ever. Combined with Great quality of snow, holliday in France not having started yet (very uncrowded, little people who try to show off and ski you off of the slopes) we had, so the shopowner, ski-elevator subervisors and ski-instructors told us, the BEST weather, conditions there they had had over the last 3 winters. Talk about great timing. Belgium was the only country who had the holliday week in this week in whole of europe. So the last day, friday, my youngest sister sien had the bright idea of going snowboarding (called 'le surf' in France, lol@that). So Sien (youngest sister) kept falling pretty hard, so did Femke (older sister). I did my fair share of falling as well, 3 times of which backwards on my head, extremely painfull as all snowboarders will agree with me), but after 2Hours of practicing on my own I had been able to complete 4 turns. Then we ate and had 2 horus of lessons from a ski-instructor Philipe (who liked the women to call him Fifi XD). After this it went good, only sad thing was that it got dark fast on the lower slopes, and seeing as me and my sisters were total snowboarding noobs going down shaded dark slopes isn't the most fun thing to do. I fell twice my last decent and had enough fun for one day. My sisters were totally sore all over the place, while I only suffered minor injuries. Overall I had a great time, I might go snowboarding again next time. 12 hours driving back and forth are really heavy on ya, though. XD It's good to be back. I'll add some pics later, they're still on my sister's cam. I might even add a few vids of my skiing, snowboarding, I'll see. |

Wow, sounds like you and your family had a great time with awesome conditions! I learned how to ski first when I was younger, but then got into snowboarding because I was also into longboarding. You'll pick it up fast, the next time you go it will be even better.
Well man it's been a while, hope you've been keeping up your mad success on MS as well, you enjoying 4th job? Anyways, take care!
