All throughout man-kind has man expressed his feelings of happiness by laughing and smiling
But this internet craze of shortening "Haha" or "Hehe" has gone far enough!

My Story
You see I have this friend in R/L that is a total dorkus of saying internet phrases out loud in public places.
I was telling him a joke and once I was finished he went "Lol' now the first time I told him off 'cause you know IT'S NOT NORMAL
He does it everytime he thinks something is funny. Internet phrases belong to the internet.

I say internet phrases IRL. No one cares, other people do it too O_o

I tell people at work "GTFO" and "STHU" ~ they look at me like I'm a fucking retard! And I FEEL like a MAJOR FUCKING retard!
Then when I bust out with the Chuck Norris jokes ~ ppl start throwing crap at me ... paper, pencils, steel rods and once even
a chair! I think he didn't like Chuck Norris but we'll never know since he got tackled before throwing another chair at me. Might
have had something to do with me telling him he failed and to "GTFO". It's funny when you do it in the middle of a busy mall or
in traffic when some douchebag is being a crappy driver! I like telling bad drivers to "CC pl0x" ... THAT gets their attention.

haha, at my school, alot of people say "lol"

I've told someone (under my breath but I think they heard) to "CC plox". I burst out laughing and got funny looks.

OOOH - YOU CAN'T FORGET THE TIMELESS "iono" ~ IT'S MY FAVE NET EXPRESSION

This does not surprise me. Although I have never caught any of my own friends or family slipping this way, I've been waiting for someone to say something about it. Even if you're not really that concerned about it, I've actually seen kids stick internet slang into their English essays. I find this quite disturbing and it seems as if things will only get worse. The best I can do is attempt to set a good example to others without falling in myself. Dx

Or is it? Does anyone have any ideas that might someday save our language?
