Bwahahaha. First blog in like....months? Years? Centuries? D: My blogs aren't as interesting or as well written as Deanna's but feel free to read anyway.
This is only the in school stuff, btw.
November
I was invited to this place called The Talisman Mountain Resort for a foundation called, The Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation. When I was reading the info about it, I highlighted the words hot tub, pool, sauna, arcade, 3 days, 2 nights, and resort all together. When I read empowering I thought, "Sounds kinda....lame." However, I went for the other stuff anyway. I'm glad I went though. Besides the silly song, it was really cool. With all honesty, I DO think it was empowering....and the food was good too. :9 The conference was really packed. There was at least 250 students there ranging from grades 7-10. 8 people from my school went, 2 grade 8 girls, 2 grade 7 girls, 2 grade 8 guys, and 2 grade 7 guys. The grade 7 guys who went were kind of blargh. I'm really not sure as to whether either of them learned anything. The rest of them were really cool. I'm glad it was my friend Lynda who went with me instead of some random grade 7er I don't know. I also saw one of my grade 9 friends.
The 1st night when were actually trying to sleep, one of my roommates, Nadia, made a new friend. ._. Her new friend had to be a stupid guy of course. The curfew was at 10:30pm and this girl was still going crazy opening the door and talking on the phone. Me, Lynda, and the other roommate, Edna, were about to smother her with a pillow. We kept telling Nadia not to teach her stupid friends how to phone other rooms and guess what this girl does? SHE TEACHES THEM. Worst part is, during the beginning when we all met, the showed us the curfew guy. If we got caught after curfew, we could be sent home. He said when he knows you're awake, he'll play the bad boy song. When he finally came, we heard him play the song at someone else's door and we got so fucking scared. I was thinking, "Ohshitohshitohshithshit....!" But thankfully he wasn't at our door. Otherwise...I would've really smothered that girl with my pillow. After yelling at the morons who kept calling, we finally went to sleep at 1:30am!
...Of course...only to be waken up by a phone call at 7:30am. ._. We had breakfast, did all the normal stuff, etc. etc. I forgot to mention, the night before this, there was a Much video dance being held. I also forgot to mention that we were separated into different groups based on the words that ACES stands for. I got put into "action". Well anyway, in my friend's group there was this tall grade 7 guy(who all of us though was in grade 10 at first) that really seemed to like Lynda. He was pretty cute and all but she didn't really like him that much at first. She said he kept staring at her and then he asked her to dance with him at the dance. She rejected him and we just left the dance for the hot tubs. Well, the next day, he asked her if she saw him dancing, she said no and then he said, "Damn, you made me said now." This was when we were playing tug-o-war with them. So it was action versus....responsibility I think. He let go of the string when he said that so, there team lost. They also lost because we had three strong ass people on our team. Sadly, I left my camera at home. KFA:LKFJL It was such a nice scenery. My friend remembered hers though. If I don't feel lazy, I post some pictures later.
There was a little bit of weird ass drama going on too...I don't think grade 7 drama should be consider drama but more comedy but whatever. Anyway, my friend's ex-boyfriend went on the trip too. He was one of the grade 8 guys. Coincidence? Maybe. But not to the superstitious. D: I'm not superstitious though so I'm going to stick with really odd coincidence. We were all walking together for recreational time which started at like 8pm. We were talking about Kevin(the tall guy) and Johnny really wanted to talk to her privately saying that it was about Kevin. See, this is the part when I look back on, I feel so...ugh. Stupid. ._. I should've saw it coming. I said...what is it? I want to know too! And Lynda said, if it's something about Do, just tell it to Jade too. He just asked her if she liked Kevin. See, if I wasn't there being oblivious, I think he would've confessed that he still liked Lynda. I say this because later on, Lynda and him were passing notes and like, she didn't show me, Edna, or Nadia till later in the night and you can guess what one of the notes said. Lynda answered that she wasn't sure. So we just continued to walk down the hall to the balcony at the end. While we were sitting there we were just talking about stuff I can't even remember myself. D: And then we saw the hot hair guy walk towards the pool. So me and Lynda screamed, "HI HOT HAIR GUY!" And he looked so happy when we called him that. It was cute. ^_^ To bad we never did get his name or school name though...Pftt. Oh well.
That night, we decided we were going to stay up all night gossiping about random stuff. I normally don't gossip but the rules were, whatever is said now, will remain here. Therefore, I will not break the rules. D: But I will reveal that Kevin found our number and called for Lynda. It was hilarious because the other 3 of us were listening to the conversation on the second phone. I was thinking, "This guy is so cornyyyyyyyy!!! How sweet." We had to keep calling back and forth thought because his teacher kept coming back. Oh what a night it was. We said we were going to stay up all night but we ended up sleeping at 3. Originally though, me and Lynda were going to sleep in the guy's room because someone took a dump and the washroom didn't have air freshener. Also, I walked in on Nadia in a weird 'wrestling' position with her friend. When I walked in, I was like..."O_O Wtf?!" In the end we concluded that Nadia was probably and hopefully wrestling on her's and Edna's bed and we opened the balcony window for a good half an hour till the smell went away. Also, all of our (by 'our' I mean my roommates) card keys stopped working so I had to hop the guy's balcony to get in and we had to go to the lobby to get new keys. The maids there were awesome. They encouraged partying.
That concludes the best event of November. And the best line of the this trip was, "Do the Do." I'll leave you to guess what that means.
December
Before we came back from the trip we had to decide what foundation we would work on the the school. There was this Cancer Awareness thing (which I wanted to do), this Peace Garden crap, Me to We, Community Builders, 30 something something involving feeding African children, and Reading Buddies (which was crossed off immediately after reading the name). So in the end, we decided on YWS because, we already have a Me to We group at our school, Reading Buddies is stupid, Peace Garden is a waste of school money, Me to We = feeding African children, we already have Community Builders at our school, and Mr. White (the guidance councilor who's ironically black) said we could probably do more with YWS than Cancer Awareness. =(
So we set up a clothing drive.
In other news, I became vice-president of the student council. But only because it was between me and some guy nobody else knows. Thanks to this, I got to skip so many days of class organizing a candy cane fundraiser. It was hell. ._. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
The writing, delivery, and packaging. But, being away from class made me realize how easy it was. The way my teacher explained things made things seem so...ugh. Doing work alone is easier. We made like $220 from the candy cane fund raiser. All the proceeds went to a lady whose screen door got kicked down. Her screen door is from the 1960's so you can only imagine what a bitch it could be to fix it. Thing is, when we went over to her house to deliver the check, she didn't answer....I was thinking, "I hope she's not dead." because she didn't even pick up her morning newspaper...
Yup...So after one long ass blog, this is my update. Merry Jingly to you all and a horrible new year.
Summery: Nov. I went on a trip and there was a lot of 'drama'.
Dec. Became vice president of the student council > missed a lot of class > old lady's door got kicked down > worked on a candy cane fundraiser > made $220 > attempted to give it to the lady but she wasn't home > possibly dead? > Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
Pictures will come later. d:
