If you purchased your PSP system sometime in the past 4-6 months, you may not realize the gift you've been given. Back when firmware 3.50 was released, Sony unlocked the power cap that was previously kept on the Playstation Portable, allowing developers to take advantage of the full 333MHz that which the PSP is capable of. What does this mean? The UMDs that you're spending precious money on will have smoother framerates and quicker loading times.
Fast forward to present day, and many games are already taking advantage of this power. God of War is one of them, as we mentioned earlier in the summer. Below is a video to show you how the increase (from 222MHz to 333MHz) is improving the God of War: Chains of Olympus gameplay. Long gone are the two (or more) minute loading screens before a basketball match, and we owe it all to Sony and their glorious firmware updates.
Update: While we're on the topic of God of War: Chains of Olympus, check out some new screenshots, courtesy of Kotaku.
