During May 2004 TechTV closed down and was taken over by G4 and became G4TechTV (Now G4 again or something, idk, couldn't care less about them, basically a trashy gaming channel by comparison with TechTV which was one of the greatest technology channels ever to be on TV.).
Over time, all the previous show hosts had to leave as G4 let them go one by one. People from gaming shows, tech news shows, all sorts of great, fun, enjoyable, technology-related shows. Shows that I had watched and absorbed information from for a year from 2003-2004 and which had first gotten me interested in computers and probably changed my life forever. (Hehe, that sounded epic... or not. :p)
Later on the people who had left TechTV started their own shows. One of the first was TWiT, This Week in Tech. Within almost no time it was the most watched and downloaded podcasts on the internet, this continued for several months. (Haven't checked if they're still on top, but probably somewhere up there still.)
Now you might ask, what on earth are podcasts? Well, here is the answer to your question: link
Ok, seriously though, here: link (basically internet radio).
Over time TWiT grew and new and more shows were added. More of the original TechTV staff started their own shows and so Diggnation was born, a popular videocast (Podcasts, but video) about the top news stories on the popular news site digg. Before this, there had obviously been some online podcasts and shows, but none as popular until now.
Present:
Diggnation grew, Revision3 was born which is basically a channel with a lot of different internet/downloadable shows.
TWiT grew and many other podcasts were added. Many of the original TechTV show hosts joined their podcasts to these two sites. Tons of other podcasts and vidcasts have popped up all over.
Here are some of my favourites, and some other good podcast/vidcast websites:
Revision3 Shows and their topics cover technology, music, movies, cooking, comedy, photoshop tutorials, hardware modding/hacking and much more.
TWiT Flashship show is This Week in Tech, it's very general about technology. Others shows cover computer security, windows, macs, biotech, gadgets, and much more.
AskANinja Standalone weekly podcast, ninja answers submitted questions. Hilarious!
The 1up show Gaming show, haven't watched it much, but they're pretty good.
Hak5 Hacking/hardware modding and technology show.
Loading.Ready.Run Lots of funny short shows here.

I thought it was new and wanted to yell 'FIRST POST', then realized it would get me banned.

TechTV (previously known as ZDTV) was in the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia. After being purchased by Comcast/G4, it is now only in the US. There is G4 channel in Canada too, but they're not the same company as the one in the US but are quite similar, they have one show with one of the most popular of the old TechTv show hosts. I download and watch it sometimes.
