Starters in 2nd generation have good type coverage and all three can cover their rival's starter. Meganium can Earthquake the fire one, the fire one can Thunderpunch the water one, and the water one can Ice Punch/Blizzard the grass one. I remember going through Blue my first time through with only Blastoise and used Ice Beam to bring down Venusaur on my rival's team. Which 2nd gen starter do you think is the hardest to solo with? I know the grass one sucks the first 2 Gyms (Flying and Bug types), but he has the best Defenses of the three. Fire one is fast and has a nice Spec. Atk, and the water one's Attack gives Earthquake a nice punch.

By the way, which do you think would be a more balanced beginner-leveled PKMN Silver challenge; solo starter or use a party of all one type? Or how about this; no grinding on wild Pokemon; only other trainers *yes that means I can re-fight trainers*?

Wow, either I'll need to use Gameshark to get them Metronome (mind you, only those that could get it from the Move Tutor because I never even touched any 3rd or 4th gen Pokemon game). 10 PP to work with...times 6...oh god. 26 Pokemon to defeat, 60 Metronomes assuming no PP Ups or PP restoring items. Togetic isn't bad defensively, but isn't his offense really crappy?

When you mentioned the Metronome @ E4 challenge, that implies no save state abuse right? Would I have to go through all 5 battles back to back or could I save in between fights? Also, how many PP does Metronome have anyway, and who would be the prime candidates in my lineup to have it?
