Doing a solo Freelancer, the only hard boss was Hein, and that was because I played it stupid and got caught off guard by a 500 damage Blizzara. I was cursing and throwing a fit screaming, "I didn't see that (censored) coming!!!" The second try, I was so OP'ed he only did 200 per Blizzara and I was paranoid and healing with Hi Potions too often. Here is my assessment on bosses solo'ing:
Djinn- Too easy; Blizzard x2 and he's dead; no need to waste Antarctic Winds (esp when you take him on at level 17)
Bahamut- The hardest thing is having enough HP to survive his attack (around 300 or so).
Rat- Boring, just fired the freak
Gutsco the Rogue- Easy
Salamander- 2x Ice Shields and Ice Armor = Fire Breath is epic fail; Blizzard spamming and back-rowed ftw
Hein- Died first time to being an idiot and forgetting he knew Blizzara; second time I just shield smacked him into oblivion although that took a bit long because of his excellent defense.
Kraken- Same as Hein minus the death. I love how being a bit overleveled with uber armor makes threatening bosses very tame.
Goldor- Shield smacking ftw, I always thought Goldor was one of the easiest bosses
Garuda- Same. I was shocked Lightning did like 200 damage to me because in normal playthroughs he does 500-600 to everyone with it, whch could 2-hit anyone.
Odin- Very easy although his main attack did about 600 damage; more than a Hi Potion could heal.
I still remember the day I had to fight Dorga and Unei. Dorga dies in two rounds thanks to hitting Arc and getting Retal'ed HARD. Unei was even worse; she hit Arc TWICE, and all I needed were two Retals to bring her down. You know what I noticed? When a battle is won, your character's final attack looks different;
Sword/Dagger= Spin Slash
Axe = Horizonal Overhead Blow
Staff = Jump up and Pound
Book = Clap both together
Spear = Spin and stab
Punch = Delayed focused punch
Throwing Weapon = Jump throw
