Ouch, that must hurt. Don't worry about the cape- soon it'll become even more common, as well as the use of 30% and 70% scrolls, and anyone would be able to afford them. Just 3 levels until 3rd job adv, until all your hard work pays off, until a new story begins. Your story.

Err that would be kinda messing up the build. If you wanted to go Explosion you should do it in a pattern of 1-4-7 and not 3-6-9. Same thing about Mist. Level 1 Mist is useless, I say get 1 Explo at 70, 3 Amp at 71, then max Explo. Fast leveling & high damage.

To sum it up,
Explosion if you like partying and paying low costs for fast leveling Mist if you like soloing and able to find high pot costs
